4 week - Exploration into Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga


We will explore the Primary Series including mantra, meditation & pranayama (breath work). The practice begins with Sun Salutations followed by a standing sequence, a seated sequence, backbends & then finishing with a closing sequence and savasana. The poses are done in a specific order and  will be linked with the breath. The breath will guide us into the asana. The purpose of this practice is purification of the body & mind. We create Tapas (inner fire) with the breath and postures to burn away impurities & toxins. We will also explore the 8 limbs of  yoga as Ashtanga is translated as the '8 limbs'. The goal is that by the end of the course you will have the framework to begin a personalized home yoga practice and also have a deeper understanding and experience of Ashtanga yoga. The classes with include hands-on adjustments if you desire. You will also begin to learn the Sanskrit names of the poses and their meaning.

Krystal completed her Primary Series Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training in Carlsbad with her teacher Timji (Tim Miller) at the Ashtanga Yoga Center.
